getting started with your fence work

Thank you for choosing Fence Solutions! We are looking forward to beginning installation on your new fence project! We will now order your material and call your JULIE (public utility) locate. While we are working to prepare your project for installation, we want to make you aware of a few key notes for installation day!

  • What the crew will need access to: When installing your fence, the crew will need access to your outside water spigot and will require approximately 10-15 gallons of water to mix concrete for your post-hole footings. They will also need access to an outside power outlet to run air compressors and power tools.

  • How Long A Fence Install Takes: The average fence takes approximately one to two days to install. Please note that unforeseen delays may arise due to, but not limited to, weather, village inspections, and placement of utility lines. We make every effort to keep our customers informed throughout the installation process, especially regarding delays. However, if you have questions, you can always ask a crew member or your project manager or call the office at 847-383-6964.

  • Sprinkler Systems: It is impossible to mark underground sprinkler systems. Even the contractor who installed the system cannot mark their location. Fence Solutions takes great care to avoid hitting these lines; however, in the result of a damaged sprinkler line, the cost of damage repair is the homeowner’s responsibility.

  • Private Utility Lines: Private electric and gas utility lines for swimming pools, sheds, and other backyard structures can be marked for an additional charge by a private locating company. Please inform your project manager if you have these lines in your backyard. Fence Solutions is not responsible for the cost or damage to ANY unmarked utility lines.

  • HOA’S: Should your property fall under the management of a homeowners association, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to make Fence Solutions aware of any restrictions or guidelines the HOA has regarding fencing.
